About RFS

This farm was initially established in the name of Indo-Australian Regional Fodder Station farm at Hessaraghatta by the Government of India as a Centrally Administrative Scheme during 1979 with the collaboration of Australian Government which was renamed as Regional Fodder Station in 1984.

At present it is working as a sub-ordinate office under Department of Animal Husbandry Dairying and Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture, Govt of India with the following broad objectives:

1. Production of quality seeds of improved varieties of fodder crops, legumes and pasture grasses.
2. Conductance of Trainings and Farmers fair.
3. Conductance of Fodder demonstrations
4. Central Minikit Testing Programme
